Job Title AI Engineer
Charlotte, NC (Onsite)
6 months contract
Job Description
Team is seeking two talented intermediate-to-senior AI / Agent Engineers to accelerate the design, expansion, and optimization of our client-facing conversational AI agents.
In this role, you will help replace an existing core FAQ experience with a cutting-edge chatbot, integrating it directly into Genesys. This is a high-visibility, client-facing product, meaning the bar for safe, reliable, and highly contextual outputs is incredibly high. You will focus heavily on expanding the agent's capabilities via skills, tools, and workflows, while ensuring strict hallucination prevention and rigorous prompt testing.
By the end of the quarter, the core agent will be mostly developed, shifting the focus toward iterative feature expansion, tool integration, and observability.
Core Responsibilities
Agentic AI Development: Build, enhance, and scale advanced AI agents and conversational chatbots utilizing LangGraph.
Full-Stack Tooling: Write clean, production-grade code in both TypeScript and Python.
System Integration: Connect AI agents with service-based APIs and workflows rather than direct, heavy database manipulation.
Prompt Engineering & Rigor: Design, evaluate, and continuously improve prompt quality to reduce hallucinations, ensuring ultra-reliable user experiences.
Ecosystem Expansion: Connect the agent to Genesys and continually add new tools, integrations, and operational skills.
Observability & Evaluation: Implement robust testing and evaluation frameworks to monitor AI outputs and track system health.
Technical Qualifications
Required / Core Skillset
Languages: Strong, production-level experience in TypeScript and Python.
AI Frameworks: Deep hands-on experience with LangGraph, GenAI LLMs, and agentic AI architectures.
Cloud Architecture (AWS): Core familiarity with AWS Bedrock (required), as well as ECS, Lambda, and S3.
Integration: Solid expertise in API integrations and modern connectivity patterns.
Enterprise Integration: Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with Genesys voice/chat environments.
Observability & Testing Tools
Monitoring/Telemetry: Practical experience with Honeycomb, Splunk, and OpenTelemetry (otel) for distributed tracing and logging.
AI Evaluation: Experience utilizing AI observability platforms like Arize alongside strict prompt testing and hallucination prevention methodologies.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Familiarity with MCPs (Model Context Protocol) or emerging AI integration patterns.
Exposure to KMaaS (Knowledge Management as a Service).
Future-facing voice or Interactive Voice Response (IVR) experience.
Professional & Soft Skills
Because this role operates in a fast-paced, rapidly maturing technology landscape, the ideal candidate must be:
An Excellent Communicator: Capable of documenting architectural patterns and collaborating across a cross-functional team featuring UX, Product, and Analytics partners.
Comfortable with Ambiguity: A self-starter who can confidently navigate a shifting AI environment, shifting gears from rapid prototyping to production-grade hardening without losing velocity.
Quality-Driven: Intensely focused on output safety, engineering rigor, and the real-world client experience.
