Job Title: Quality Assurance Analyst (Data & Reporting)
Contract Length: 6 month contract role (On site work)

Role Summary

The Quality Assurance Analyst serves as a key contributor within the testing and quality function, acting as a primary point of contact for testing facilitators, executors, and validators. This role demonstrates a high level of accountability and ownership while ensuring software applications, data outputs, and reports meet defined business, regulatory, and enterprise quality standards.

The position requires strong manual testing expertise, advanced data validation skills, and close collaboration with business, analytics, development, and project management teams.

Key Responsibilities

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Conduct comprehensive manual, functional, regression, and UAT testing across medium- to high-risk systems.
• Develop, review, and execute complex test cases based on business and functional requirements.
• Write user stories and test scenarios aligned to business use cases.
• Document defects clearly and accurately; track issues through resolution within defined timelines.
• Generate test metrics, test evidence, and project status reports to support leadership, audit, and compliance needs.
• Assist Test Leads and Managers with test planning, analysis, and execution strategies for critical initiatives.

Data Validation & Analysis

• Perform data validation using SQL to confirm source-to-target mappings, business rules, calculations, and risk metrics.
• Validate data pipelines, reports, dashboards, and analytical outputs across enterprise platforms.
• Identify data inconsistencies and collaborate with technical teams to drive resolution.
• Support audit and regulatory reviews through well-documented test results and validation evidence.

Reporting & BI Validation

• Test and validate BI dashboards and reports (e.g., Tableau) against business requirements.
• Perform detailed dataset analysis using advanced Microsoft Excel techniques, including Power Query and complex data analysis.
• Ensure reporting accuracy, data integrity, and production readiness.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Interface with Test Leads, Business Analysts, Developers, and Project Managers during test case review and planning sessions.
• Manage test environments, test data, defects, and escalations through appropriate governance channels.
• Improve test quality and effectiveness by working closely with development and project teams.
• Ensure testing activities align with enterprise quality standards and regulatory expectations.

Required Skills & Experience

Top Skills (in order of importance)

Experience in Disputes, and Transaction processing

Software Quality Assurance & Reporting

• 4+ years of experience translating business requirements into test scenarios
• Proven ability to document defects, prepare test evidence, and communicate testing outcomes to cross-functional stakeholders
• Manual testing experience.

SQL & Data Analysis

• 4+ years of hands-on experience using SQL (e.g., MS SQL Server, Oracle)
• Experience validating business rules, data mappings, and analytical outputs in support of UAT and audit requirements

Data Validation

• 3+ years of experience validating enterprise data pipelines, reports, dashboards, and analytical results

Required Tools & Technologies

• SQL (MS SQL Server, Oracle)
• Business Intelligence / Reporting tools (e.g., Tableau)
• Microsoft Excel (advanced usage, including Power Query and complex analysis)

Daily Responsibilities Using Required Tools

• Execute manual and functional test cases to validate application behavior.
• Use SQL queries to validate data accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
• Test BI dashboards and reports against documented business requirements.
• Analyze datasets using advanced Excel techniques to support validation and reporting.
• Document defects and support UAT cycles using defect-tracking tools.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure alignment and production readiness.

Team-Specific Responsibilities

• Execute manual testing, data validation, and reporting validation for operational systems.
• Validate business rules, calculations, and risk metrics against source systems.
• Support UAT, regression testing, and defect triage activities.
• Maintain detailed test documentation and evidence for audit and compliance reviews.
• Partner with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to resolve defects efficiently.
• Ensure testing aligns with enterprise quality and regulatory standards.
