Manufacturing Engineer, AI Robotics and Computer Vision

Location: Lexington, KY area (about 30 minutes north of downtown)
Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Pay: $100,000 to $140,000 per year

Bring AI, computer vision, and robotics out of the lab and onto the production floor at a global, multi-billion dollar manufacturer.

Must-Haves

  • Bachelor?s or master?s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience deploying manufacturing automation
  • Hands-on experience in at least two of: computer vision, machine learning/deep learning, or robotics
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, and ROS
  • Deep knowledge of sensors such as RGBD cameras, LiDAR, and time-of-flight
  • Full-stack mindset focused on complete, production-ready solutions

What You?ll Do

  • Integrate and deploy AI-enabled robotic solutions in manufacturing
  • Develop computer vision, machine learning, and sensor fusion applications for bin picking, part handling, and inspection
  • Optimize AI models for industrial hardware, balancing latency, reliability, and compute
  • Bridge modern Python AI code with standard industrial automation
  • Use simulation tools such as Isaac Sim or MuJoCo for concept validation, synthetic data, and Sim2Real
  • Lead equipment trials and validation from proof of concept through production and plant-wide rollout
  • Collaborate with robotics, controls, and plant manufacturing teams
  • Benchmark emerging Physical AI technologies and engage suppliers
  • Manage contractors building test cells
  • Present results and recommendations to leadership

Nice-to-Haves

  • Master?s degree in Robotics or Computer Science
  • Experience with high-volume or automotive manufacturing
  • 3D perception and segmentation experience
