Job DetailsAs an Electrical Designer/Engineer, you will be responsible for developing electrical layouts, drawings, schematics, isometrics, and supporting documentation for complex construction projects.
You will serve as a technical resource throughout the project lifecycle, helping ensure electrical systems are code-compliant, constructible, cost-effective, and aligned with project requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, isometrics, and system designs
- Coordinate design solutions while balancing code requirements, constructability, client expectations, and project budgets
- Serve as a technical lead across multiple projects during bidding, design, permitting, and construction
- Provide technical direction and support to project and design team members
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, project teams, engineers, and inspecting authorities
- Perform electrical calculations including building service loads, voltage drop, short circuit, and lighting photometrics
- Review designs for compliance with applicable codes and project specifications
- Assist with resolving electrical design and constructability issues throughout the project lifecycle
Qualifications:
- 4-10+ years of relevant electrical design, engineering, or construction experience
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local electrical codes
- Working knowledge of IBC, IECC, and construction safety requirements
- Strong understanding of electrical equipment, installation methods, and electrical design fundamentals
- Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities simultaneously
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred
- Experience working on large-scale commercial, multifamily, residential, or similar construction projects preferred
