Job Description:
The Data Analyst will support data integration and enablement initiatives within a banking environment, combining data analysis and business analysis responsibilities. This role will focus on improving customer understanding and segmentation by documenting customer data, tracing how information moves across systems, and identifying gaps that could improve customer needs analysis and sales efforts.
The analyst will work with business and technology teams to gather requirements, profile source systems, understand data models, and document data flows across servicing applications. The initial focus will be on deposit and loan systems, including how customer information moves from onboarding and origination through servicing and into the data warehouse. The role will also involve documenting metadata, transformation rules, field mappings, and data lineage while developing test cases and validating data quality.
The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, experience working with data warehouses, and the ability to investigate data across multiple systems. Banking experience is strongly preferred, particularly with customer onboarding, financial data, servicing systems, or loan and deposit products. Candidates should be curious, assertive, detail-oriented, and comfortable asking questions, identifying inconsistencies, and working with stakeholders to understand business needs.
Required Skills:
2+ years of experience in data analysis, data integration, or a related field
Strong SQL skills for data profiling, analysis, transformation, testing, and validation
Experience working with data warehouses
Experience documenting data lineage, field mappings, metadata, or data flows
Experience profiling source systems and understanding data models
Experience gathering and translating business requirements
Experience developing and executing data validation or testing processes
Experience working with multiple source systems and tracing data across applications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and documentation skills
Bachelor's degree in data, analytics, business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to work remotely while maintaining availability from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Mountain Time
