Summary

B2B Integration Architect
Enterprise Integration | EDI | APIs | Cloud Modernization
Location: Camden, NJ (Hybrid - Camden Waterfront)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Travel: Less than 20%

The Opportunity
We are seeking an accomplished B2B Integration Architect to help design, modernize, and scale enterprise integration capabilities within a complex, technology-driven logistics and supply chain environment.
This is a highly visible, hands-on technical leadership opportunity for an architect who thrives at the intersection of enterprise integration, API architecture, EDI, cloud technologies, and digital transformation.

The organization is investing in a multi-year technology modernization strategy focused on API-first architecture, event-driven integrations, cloud platforms, automation, and improved customer connectivity.
You will play a critical role in shaping how customers, business partners, enterprise applications, and operational platforms exchange information securely and reliably.

This is not simply an integration support position. You will have the opportunity to influence architectural direction, establish enterprise standards, develop reusable integration solutions, and drive meaningful improvements across mission-critical systems.

What You'll Do
Enterprise Integration Architecture & Development
  • Design, develop, implement, and support scalable B2B integrations utilizing EDI, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and secure file-based connectivity.
  • Architect end-to-end integration solutions connecting customers, vendors, third-party partners, and internal enterprise applications.
  • Develop reusable integration patterns, frameworks, templates, and accelerators to streamline customer onboarding and integration delivery.
  • Establish architectural standards and best practices for performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and security.
  • Support integrations across Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), ERP platforms, databases, and cloud applications.
API, EDI & Cloud Modernization
  • Design and enhance API-first integration solutions that improve connectivity and reduce reliance on traditional point-to-point interfaces.
  • Develop and support EDI integrations utilizing industry standards, including ANSI X12 and EDIFACT.
  • Contribute to the evolution of cloud-based integration capabilities, particularly within Microsoft Azure.
  • Evaluate and implement modern integration technologies, messaging solutions, and event-driven architectural patterns.
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, self-service functionality, integration monitoring, and operational efficiency.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for enterprise and B2B integration architecture.
  • Partner with application development, infrastructure, security, business operations, and customer-facing teams to deliver integration solutions.
  • Collaborate directly with external customers, technology vendors, and business partners throughout integration design, onboarding, testing, and deployment.
  • Provide architectural guidance, technical recommendations, and integration design reviews.
  • Translate complex business requirements into practical, scalable technical solutions.
Reliability, Security & Operational Excellence
  • Troubleshoot complex integration failures, data mapping issues, connectivity challenges, and production incidents.
  • Improve integration reliability through proactive monitoring, error handling, logging, and automation.
  • Maintain technical specifications, architecture diagrams, data mappings, runbooks, and operational documentation.
  • Ensure integration solutions align with enterprise security, data governance, and architectural standards.
  • Participate in critical production support and deployment activities as needed.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise integration, B2B integration, EDI development, middleware, or integration architecture.
  • Strong hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting EDI, API, and file-based integration solutions.
  • Deep understanding of EDI standards, particularly ANSI X12 and EDIFACT, including transaction processing and data mapping.
  • Experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating third-party applications.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise integration architecture, system design, and reusable integration patterns.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues and support business-critical production environments.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate directly with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical execution with architectural planning and strategic decision-making.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator or comparable enterprise B2B/EDI integration platforms.
  • Experience with API management technologies such as Azure API Management (APIM), MuleSoft, or Apigee.
  • Experience designing and supporting cloud-based integrations, particularly within Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures, messaging technologies, and asynchronous integration patterns.
  • Experience with AS2, SFTP, OAuth, certificates, token-based authentication, and API security.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices and automation tools such as GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DB2, or similar relational databases.
  • Exposure to JavaScript/Node.js, Python, or modern application development technologies.
  • Experience establishing integration governance, architecture standards, and reusable technical frameworks.
  • Background in supply chain, logistics, warehousing, distribution, manufacturing, or third-party logistics (3PL) environments.

Technology Environment
  • B2B / EDI Integration: IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, ANSI X12, EDIFACT
  • API & Connectivity: REST APIs, Azure API Management (APIM), AS2, SFTP
  • Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Integration Architecture: API-First Architecture, Event-Driven Integrations, File-Based Integrations, Messaging Platforms
  • Databases: Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, PostgreSQL
  • Development & Automation: JavaScript, Node.js, Python, React, Next.js, GitHub Actions, CI/CD
  • Enterprise Applications: Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
  • Security & Authentication: OAuth, Certificates, Token-Based Authentication, API Security, Secure File Transfer
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
Architectural Influence: Help define the integration standards, platforms, and design patterns that will guide enterprise technology initiatives for years to come.
Modernization & Innovation: Contribute directly to a multi-year transformation focused on cloud adoption, API-first architecture, event-driven integrations, and automation.
Hands-On Technical Ownership: Remain close to the technology while influencing broader architectural decisions and integration strategy.
Enterprise-Scale Impact: Design solutions supporting a large, complex, mission-critical logistics and distribution network.
Cross-Functional Visibility: Work directly with technology leadership, application teams, business stakeholders, customers, and external partners.
Long-Term Career Opportunity: Join an established organization investing in modern technology, scalable infrastructure, and continued digital innovation.

The Ideal Candidate
The strongest candidate will be a hands-on enterprise integration architect who understands both traditional B2B/EDI environments and modern API-driven integration strategies.

You should be equally comfortable troubleshooting a complex EDI transaction, designing a secure REST API integration, collaborating with an external customer, and helping establish the architectural standards for a modern enterprise integration ecosystem.

If you're passionate about solving complex integration challenges, modernizing enterprise technology, and building reliable systems that directly impact business operations, this opportunity offers the technical depth, visibility, and ownership to make a meaningful impact.
