Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This is a highly visible role requiring a hands-on leader to manage a large-scale Market Risk Data Remediation Program. The successful candidate will partner closely with business stakeholders, risk teams, and technology organizations to drive strategic initiatives focused on improving data quality, lineage, governance, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate can navigate complex data flows, understand detailed data transformations, and manage remediation efforts from requirements gathering through to implementation and testing.
Responsibilities: - Lead a portfolio of Market Risk data remediation initiatives designed to improve data quality, governance, controls, and regulatory compliance
- Work closely with business stakeholders, risk managers, data owners, and technology teams to define project scope, objectives, requirements, and success criteria
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and resource requirements
- Analyze and document complex data flows, lineage, sourcing, transformations, and downstream impacts across multiple systems
- Coordinate efforts to onboard new upstream data sources, implement data mapping changes, and remediate existing data quality issues
- Partner with development teams to define technical solutions and implementation approaches that satisfy business and regulatory requirements
- Ensure comprehensive documentation is maintained for testing, audit, governance, controls, and compliance purposes
- Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), system testing, and validation activities to demonstrate how data changes propagate through the end-to-end process
- Manage and report Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies (RAID) while proactively driving resolution and escalation when necessary
- Coordinate change management activities, tollgates, and approvals to ensure compliance with enterprise change control processes
- Prepare and deliver executive-level status reports, project updates, dashboards, and stakeholder presentations
- Drive collaboration across business, technology, QA, risk, audit, and compliance teams in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent initiatives
Requirements: - 8+ years of Project Management experience within Financial Services
- Strong knowledge of Market Risk, Global Markets, Capital Markets, or Front Office/Middle Office/Back Office technology environments
- Experience leading data-focused programs involving data governance, data lineage, data quality, controls, and regulatory remediation initiatives
- Ability to understand and document complex data flows, data sourcing, transformations, mappings, and downstream system impacts
- Experience working closely with software development, data engineering, and QA teams throughout the SDLC
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks
- Demonstrated experience managing large, complex cross-functional programs involving multiple stakeholders and technology teams
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to influence teams, remove obstacles, and drive projects to successful completion
- Strong attention to detail and ownership mentality
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline
Desired skills: - Prior hands-on development, data analysis, or technical background
- Ability to write and execute SQL queries for data analysis and validation
- Experience supporting regulatory, audit, compliance, or data governance initiatives
- Exposure to financial product control, risk management, or market data environments
- Familiarity with enterprise data governance frameworks and data management best practices
- Experience with Jira, Microsoft Project, Excel, SharePoint, Visio, and PowerPoint
- Advanced degree or relevant certifications (PMP, Agile, Scrum, etc.)
Pay range: $57.70 - $65.70 per hour
