We are hiring three Senior Zeke Scheduling SMEs to support Huntington's enterprise mainframe batch environment during a critical conversion period. This is a hands-on SME role - ideal for seasoned mainframe professionals who thrive in complex batch environments, enjoy solving production issues, and have experience navigating high-visibility conversion events.

About This EngagementThis project supports Huntington's CD1 conversion, requiring strong batch readiness, rigorous planning, and reliable night-of execution. You will be part of a team ensuring that mainframe batch processing is stable, optimized, and conversion-ready.

Role 1 - Day Shift SME (Reports to Mende)Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM EST
On-Call: Required for Cadence integration weekend (24 7)
Key Responsibilities- Own day-to-day enterprise batch execution using ZEKE/ZEBB
- Review and validate scheduling requests (ChangeMan / ServiceNow)
- Provide expert support for abends, reruns, restarts, dependencies
- Monitor schedules for risks, conflicts, and inefficiencies
- Deliver rapid recovery support when issues arise
- Co-lead planning with application teams for CD1 readiness
- Document all INT, Mock1, and Mock2 test activities
- Develop runbooks and pre-conversion checklists
- Establish timelines for JCL/schedule submission and pre-staging
- Drive improvements to communication, readiness, and batch flow
Roles 2 & 3 - Conversion Support SMEs (Report to Carmen)These two roles will support off-hours and conversion week activities.
Shift Example: Midnight-4 AM during conversion week (including Juneteenth)
Flexible Coverage Needed For:
- Off-hours batch windows
- Weekend validations
- Mock events
- Early morning/late-night cycles
Key Responsibilities- Hands-on ZEKE/ZEBB scheduling during non-standard hours
- Provide abend/recovery support during overnight processing
- Support conversion planning sessions (late-shift focus)
- Document issues during INT, Mock1, Mock2 testing windows
- Ensure batch flow accuracy and dependency integrity
- Update runbooks, track anomalies, and support readiness improvements
- Monitor critical-path jobs during off-hour cycles
- Provide coverage to maintain momentum ahead of CD1
Core Responsibilities (All Three Roles)Mainframe Production Scheduling & Support- Manage enterprise-wide batch scheduling using ZEKE/ZEBB
- Process scheduling changes in ChangeMan and ServiceNow
- Provide SME-level support for job abends, failures, restarts
- Identify risks, schedule conflicts, and optimization opportunities
- Work with application teams to resolve batch issues proactively
CD1 Conversion Planning & Execution- Participate in readiness meetings and batch planning cycles
- Document and track activities across INT, Mock1, and Mock2
- Analyze conversion workloads to reduce bottlenecks and failure points
Conversion Weekend Improvement Initiatives- Recommend improvements to pre-staging, readiness, and dependency accuracy
- Strengthen communication across app teams, Production Support, and Ops
- Create predictable timelines for JCL, scheduling changes, and approvals
- Maintain runbooks and documentation to support repeatable conversions
Outcome ExpectationsYou will play a visible role in transforming how CD1 is delivered - shifting from reactive troubleshooting to a proactive, well-planned, predictable, and efficiently executed conversion cycle.

- Smoother execution
Required Skills- Deep hands-on experience with Zeke/Zebb (SME level)
- Strong mainframe batch scheduling + JCL knowledge
- Production support expertise (abends, reruns, restarts)
- Experience with ChangeMan and/or ServiceNow
- Experience in banking, financial services, or insurance strongly preferred
- Conversion/Migration/CD1 experience a significant plus
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Columbus, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
