Location: Riverside, CA


Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8 AM - 5 PM


Employment Type: Contract | 6 months or longer


Pay: $36.35 - $45.50 per hour


Advance your career with Staffmark. We are seeking an experienced Financial and Budget Analyst.


What You'll Do:


  • Conduct complex financial, budgetary, and compliance analyses to support long-range planning and fiscal performance evaluation.

  • Manage budget planning, financial reporting, and fiscal oversight for multiple departments and programs, including the Dean of Students, Student Engagement, and Auxiliary units.

  • Prepare internal and external financial and compliance reports with accuracy and timeliness.

  • Coordinate the annual budget process and fiscal year-end closing activities.

  • Oversee general ledger reconciliations, cost transfers, and fund tracking to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance.

  • Serve as a key resource for financial compliance reviews and internal audits, ensuring adherence to university policies, fund restrictions, and state/federal regulations.

  • Support divisional leadership by preparing executive dashboards, reports, and financial materials for briefings and advisory groups.

  • Collaborate with CFAO and departmental business officers on financial planning, budget presentations, and strategic initiatives.


Qualifications:


Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (required)

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field (preferred)


Experience:


  • 4-7 years of related financial and budgetary experience (required)

  • Experience with University Financial Systems such as Oracle Financials and Budget Cloud (preferred)

  • Higher education experience (preferred)

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (preferred)


Skills & Knowledge:


  • Deep understanding of finance policies, practices, and internal controls.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to prepare and present complex financial information to executive leadership.

  • Knowledge of compliance requirements, fund restrictions, and internal audit processes.
