Now Hiring Financial and Budget Analyst
Location: Riverside, CA
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8 AM - 5 PM
Employment Type: Contract | 6 months or longer
Pay: $36.35 - $45.50 per hour
Advance your career with Staffmark. We are seeking an experienced Financial and Budget Analyst.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct complex financial, budgetary, and compliance analyses to support long-range planning and fiscal performance evaluation.
- Manage budget planning, financial reporting, and fiscal oversight for multiple departments and programs, including the Dean of Students, Student Engagement, and Auxiliary units.
- Prepare internal and external financial and compliance reports with accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate the annual budget process and fiscal year-end closing activities.
- Oversee general ledger reconciliations, cost transfers, and fund tracking to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance.
- Serve as a key resource for financial compliance reviews and internal audits, ensuring adherence to university policies, fund restrictions, and state/federal regulations.
- Support divisional leadership by preparing executive dashboards, reports, and financial materials for briefings and advisory groups.
- Collaborate with CFAO and departmental business officers on financial planning, budget presentations, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (required)
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field (preferred)
Experience:
- 4-7 years of related financial and budgetary experience (required)
- Experience with University Financial Systems such as Oracle Financials and Budget Cloud (preferred)
- Higher education experience (preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (preferred)
Skills & Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of finance policies, practices, and internal controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to prepare and present complex financial information to executive leadership.
- Knowledge of compliance requirements, fund restrictions, and internal audit processes.
