Software Engineer IV – Java / AWS
Location: Coppell, TX — Onsite 4 days/week

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Software Engineer IV with strong Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and distributed transactional systems experience. This is an 80% development / 20% unit testing role focused on building highly scalable, low-latency microservices.
The ideal candidate has experience building transaction-heavy applications, concurrency/locking mechanisms, caching, ACID transactions, and distributed systems at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop event-driven transactional microservices using Java 17/Spring Boot.
- Build scalable AWS applications using ECS, Aurora PostgreSQL, SQS FIFO, EventBridge, and MSK/Kafka.
- Develop high-throughput APIs supporting 300+ TPS, with a focus on low-latency processing.
- Implement concurrency controls, locking, optimistic versioning, caching, and ACID transactions.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and infrastructure using Terraform/AWS CDK.
- Migrate legacy TIBCO applications to Java/AWS-based microservices.
Required Skills
- 7+ years of Java/Spring Boot development experience.
- Strong hands-on AWS experience.
- Proven experience building transactional/distributed systems at scale.
- Strong knowledge of concurrency, database locking, caching, ACID, and performance optimization.
- Experience with Kafka/MSK and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, or AWS CDK.
- Strong unit-testing and API development experience.
Preferred: Drools, state-machine patterns, Resilience4j, parallel-run validation, and legacy-to-cloud migration experience.
