Position Summary: The I&C cabinet and chassis designer works within the I&C Technology team and is responsible for designing and implementing supporting structures to mount I&C electronic hardware for safety related systems at Nuclear Power Plants. The I&C Technology team has strong interfaces with electronic hardware design and qualification testing teams. This role requires technical problem solving, strong design skills, understanding of codes and standards, and effective communication/collaboration with other teams within the GEH business functions.
Responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical systems and components control system chassis and cabinets used in Nuclear Power Plants. Perform analysis and testing to ensure mechanical systems meet performance standards and safety regulations. Prepare detailed engineering documentation, including design specifications, reports, and manuals. Provide maintenance support and troubleshoot mechanical issues to ensure continuous and efficient operation of systems. Ensure all mechanical designs and installations comply with relevant industry standards and regulations. Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with electrical engineers, civil engineers, and other stakeholders. Utilize engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and MATLAB for design and analysis tasks. Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to address complex mechanical engineering challenges. High ethical standards and integrity in professional conduct.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Proven experience in mechanical design and project execution. Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical systems. Proficiency in engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor. Strong, broad knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Must Have
3D Cad Modeling
Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering degree from an accredited college of university.
Experience with coding conventions, unit testing and integration testing of control cabinets and chassis.
Minimum 5 years of experience in field.
Nice To Have
AutoCAD experience.
Experience understanding coding standards that meets and delivers desired functionality using technology selected for the project.
Inventor experience.
