Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Talend Consultant to support enterprise-level data integration initiatives for government clients. The consultant will work through an implementation partner to design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT workflows using Talend solutions in secure, compliance-driven environments.
This is a remote contract role requiring strong expertise in Talend and experience working on public sector or government projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT workflows using Talend Data Integration and Talend Data Fabric.
- Develop scalable data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Integrate data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, flat files, cloud platforms).
- Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with government data security and regulatory standards.
- Perform data validation, transformation, and quality checks.
- Collaborate with architects, analysts, and stakeholders to define technical requirements.
- Support deployment in on-prem and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform).
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide ongoing support.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in ETL/Data Integration.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Talend.
- Strong SQL and database knowledge (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Experience working in government or public sector environments.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Experience with REST/SOAP APIs integration.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and version control (Git).
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Talend Cloud.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Understanding of data governance and security frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA, etc.).
- Active Public Trust or Security Clearance (preferred but not mandatory).
Nice to Have
- Experience with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).
- Knowledge of data modeling tools.
- Experience working with implementation partners on federal/state contracts.
Work Environment
- Fully remote.
- Must be able to work U.S. business hours.
