Senior Business Analyst – Oracle Payroll (Technical-Functional)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong Oracle Payroll expertise to join our team. This role goes beyond traditional business analysis and requires a technical-functional SME who can actively contribute to Oracle HCM implementations, configuration, troubleshooting, and post-go-live support.
The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that solutions align with business needs while also being technically sound. This role demands hands-on system experience, the ability to work across functional and technical domains, and a strong understanding of payroll processes within Oracle HCM.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams for requirements gathering, analysis, and solution design
- Lead requirement discussions, workshops, and walkthrough sessions to ensure alignment and obtain sign-offs
- Translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, PMs, and cross-functional teams
Oracle Payroll & HCM Expertise
- Lead and support Oracle Payroll implementations, enhancements, and integrations
- Provide hands-on configuration and troubleshooting within Oracle HCM
- Work across modules including Core HR, Payroll, OTBI reporting, and data loads (HDL/HSDL)
- Ensure system solutions align with payroll processes and compliance requirements
Technical & Functional Delivery
- Analyze system behavior, data flows, and dependencies to support issue resolution
- Drive end-to-end SDLC activities, from requirements through implementation and deployment
- Support post-go-live (hypercare) activities, including defect resolution and performance improvements
- Identify opportunities to enhance business processes through system optimization
Collaboration & Leadership
- Work in a global virtual team environment across multiple time zones (US & India)
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance where needed
- Drive issue analysis, resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Contribute to a fast-paced, high-priority delivery environment with minimal supervision
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in Business Analysis / Oracle HCM domain
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Oracle Payroll (mandatory)
- Oracle HCM Cloud implementations
- System configuration and troubleshooting
- Experience with:
- Core HR modules
- OTBI Reporting
- HDL / HSDL data loads
- Strong understanding of system interactions, data structures, and integrations
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills
- Ability to lead discussions, drive requirements, and work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in consulting or managed services environments
- Exposure to post-go-live support and hypercare models
- Basic knowledge of Financial Services domain (nice to have)
