Summary

The Propulsion Base Software Core Development Engineeris responsible forcontributing to the development of embedded software for EE/core and propulsion control modules, with a strong emphasis on GTM-based development for internal combustion engine (ICE) applications. This role involves softwarerequirementsanalysis, design, development, integration, and validation of base software components.

The engineer will activelyparticipatein technical reviews, collaborate across teams and suppliers, and ensure delivery of high-quality, standards-compliant software. Experience in low-level driver development, AUTOSAR-based systems, GTM configuration, and engine synchronization methodologies is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and integrate embedded low-level driver software for ICE propulsion and electrified powertrain control modules, with emphasis on GTM (Generic Timer Module)utilization.
  • Implement andoptimizehardware interface drivers for peripherals such as SPI, I2C, UART, ADCs, timers, PWM, and driver circuits (e.g., HSD/LSD, H-Bridge), including advanced timer subsystems (GTM: TIM, TOM, ATOM).
  • Develop and support engine synchronization and position tracking algorithms, including crankshaft/camshaft signal processing, tooth detection, angle domain timing, and synchronization robustness.
  • Configure and integrate GTM-based timing and control functions for engine-critical applications such as fuel injection, ignition timing, and event scheduling.
  • Contribute to MCAL integration and development of complex device drivers aligned with AUTOSAR architecture, including GTM MCAL or low-level driver enhancements.
  • Analyze software requirements and translate them into scalable design and robust implementation, particularly for real-time, deterministic engine control behavior.
  • Perform hardware-software integration including interpreting schematics, validatingelectrical interfaces, and supporting hardware bring-up, with focus on engine-related sensor interfaces (e.g., crank/cam, SENT).
  • Debug and resolve complex embedded system issues using tools such as Lauterbach, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers, including timing and synchronization-related issues.
  • Optimizeembedded software for real-time performance, deterministic behavior, and efficient memoryutilizationon multicore microcontrollers, especially for time-critical ICE control events.
  • Collaborate with Base Software Architecture teams to align with AUTOSAR, RTE integration, and system-level design.
  • Conduct andparticipatein reviews of requirements, design documents, source code, and test plans.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive software standards and processes including MISRA-C, ASPICE, and ISO 26262.
  • Develop and execute software verification strategies including unit, integration, and system-level validation (white box, black box, gray box).
  • Support virtualization and simulation-based development methodologies within the software lifecycle.
  • Create andmaintaintechnical documentation including design specifications, interface documentation, and test plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (systems, hardware, validation, calibration, and suppliers) to ensure seamless integration of engine control features.
  • Drive defect resolution, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support vehicle integration, software bring-up, engine calibration support activities, and production readiness.
