Location: Carlsbad, CA


Pay Rate: $36.00/hour

We are seeking a detail-oriented R&D Test Technician to support the testing and evaluation of innovative medical devices in a fast-paced research and development environment. This onsite role partners with R&D engineers and technicians to perform mechanical, electrical, and functional testing of catheter-based devices and components.

Key Responsibilities


  • Conduct development and design verification testing of medical device components and assemblies.

  • Perform tensile, flex, torque, balloon fatigue, burst, and catheter functional testing.

  • Set up and operate semi-automated test equipment and fixtures.

  • Accurately collect, document, and report test data following established procedures.

  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and improve test methods and setups.

  • Follow quality standards, technical instructions, and testing protocols.

  • Utilize Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and data management.


Qualifications


  • Associate degree (AA) or equivalent experience in a technical field.

  • At least 1 year of hands-on testing or laboratory experience.

  • Experience with tensile testing equipment, microscopy, electrical measurement tools, or similar laboratory instrumentation.

  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and accurately follow technical procedures.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Previous medical device industry experience.
