Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Architect for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Atlanta, GA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. As a member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and socializing the infrastructure strategy and design for Payment and Merchant Services Technology. This role has end-to-end accountability for technology design, engineering, implementation, DevOps, and support for critical, high-volume business platforms.
Responsibilities: - Lead and participate in the design, development, and implementation of complex system engineering activities
- Establish input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and system integration
- Define the application infrastructure architecture for high availability, load balancing, resiliency, and scalability
- Identify technical requirements for new projects, including hardware, operating systems, security, firewall connectivity, and load balancer settings
- Address production issues and troubleshoot Priority 1, 2, and 3 incidents
- Manage team activities, review project designs, and coordinate with multiple teams for implementation
- Create design documents, technical specifications, and deployment guides
- Identify risks associated with line-of-business applications and provide solutions to mitigate them
Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in designing and engineering solutions for large business capabilities
- Multiple years of demonstrated experience in Systems Administration or Systems Engineering
- 2+ years in a technical position using Cloud technologies like Azure (Compute, Storage, Networking)
- Experience in Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, or XLR
- Working knowledge of JIRA, NEXUS, and ALM
- Exposure and familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies across Windows and Linux
- Knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL databases and Linux (RHEL, CentOS) experience
- Working knowledge of computer networking (load balancers, firewalls) and web application protocols (SOAP, HTTP, XML)
- Effective communication skills to articulate complex technology solutions to diverse audiences
- Willing and able to work in a 24x7 environment, including after-hours and weekend support
Desired skills: - Expertise in Payment and Merchant Services capabilities
- Experience in design and engineering of applications hosted in external clouds such as Azure and AWS
- Knowledge of monitoring, alerting, and logging tools
- Experience with JAVA, Python, and DevOps practices
Pay range: $63.68 - $71.68 per hour
