Help Desk/ End User Support (Onsite VA)

Overview

Our direct client is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to support day-to-day IT operations and end-user environments. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity designed for someone early in their IT career who is eager to learn, take ownership, and grow within a collaborative team.

You ll play a key role in ensuring employees have reliable, functional technology while gaining hands-on experience across desktop support and basic systems administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Provision and manage user accounts, including onboarding and access support
• Provide hands-on desktop support for hardware, software, and user environments
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot printers and peripheral devices
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues independently across workstations and systems
• Ensure all end-user systems are fully operational and properly configured
• Maintain and update technical documentation for processes and issue resolution
• Support general IT operations, including equipment setup, replacement, and maintenance

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in desktop support or IT support roles
• Experience working with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow or similar)
• Strong foundational knowledge of Windows environments and end-user systems
• Proven ability to troubleshoot issues independently and follow through to resolution
• Self-starter mindset with a willingness to learn and grow
• Strong documentation skills with attention to clarity and detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Active Directory (user provisioning, password resets, group management)
• Exposure to basic systems administration or IT infrastructure concepts

Work Environment

• Fully onsite role (5 days/week) in Hampton, VA
