Summary

Unison Systems is looking for a senior Wireless Engineer to join a strong development team in the DTC.

Location: DTC; hybrid 4 days
Duration: 12 months plus
Pay: $70/hr

Must-have skills - Developing AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) policies and databases for Wi-Fi offload: particularly in carrier-grade environments that requires a blend of core, wireless network, and database management skills.

Protocol Expertise: In-depth knowledge of RADIUS Authentication & EAP Methods: Experience with EAP-SIM (RFC 4186) and EAP-AKA (RFC 4187) to enable secure SIM-based authentication.

Hotspot 2.0/Passpoint: Skills in configuring Wi-Fi Passpoint to enable seamless, secure roaming for users between cellular and Wi-Fi networks.

OpenRoaming & WBA Standards: Familiarity with Wireless Broadband Alliance standards for interoperability SQL and NoSQL
Database Skills: Strong database skills for managing subscriber profiles, tracking sessions, and managing accounting logs.
Experience with SQL database architectures (e.g., MySQL Master/Slave) is commonly used for high availability.
Session Management & Data Store: Designing databases that can handle high TPS (Transactions Per Second) for authentication, ensuring low-latency response times for real-time traffic switching.
DHCP/DNS/IPAM: Familiarity with solutions to manage IP address allocation in a dynamic Wi-Fi environment. Security Protocols: Proficiency in IPsec, TLS/RADSEC, and certificate management for protecting traffic between hotspots and the core network.
Tunneling Technologies: Knowledge of Ethernet over GRE (EoGRE) or IPsec tunneling for securely routing traffic from the Access Point to the core.
AAA Servers: Experience with carrier-grade AAA platforms like Nokia AAA and FreeRADIUS
Network Simulation/Testing: Familiarity with tools to simulate UE (User Equipment) and test EAP-SIM/AKA flows (e.g., Spirent, Ixia, Calnex, etc).
