We are hiring a DevOps Engineer Specialist!

Role: DevOps Engineer Specialist

Supporting: Large Financial Services Client

Location: McLean, VA (Onsite)

Assignment Type: Contract Only

Duration: ~6 Months

Role Overview: Join a high-impact DevOps and Engineering Enablement team focused on building scalable, enterprise-level CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys developing robust deployment tooling, improving delivery efficiency, and working across modern cloud and containerized environments. You'll play a key role in driving automation and enabling faster, more reliable software delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deployment automation
• Build reusable pipeline libraries and automation components using Groovy and Python
• Develop and maintain custom Helm charts for Kubernetes-based deployments
• Collaborate with development, QA, release management, and infrastructure teams to streamline software delivery processes and implement best practices
• Troubleshoot and optimize CI/CD workflows, deployment failures, and automation issues
• Support containerized application deployments using Kubernetes and Helm
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Provide production support and communicate clearly on issue resolution

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of strong Groovy development experience, especially in CI/CD pipelines
• Proven experience building scalable CI/CD pipelines
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining Helm charts
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration
• Exposure to Spinnaker
• Strong Python skills for automation and tooling
• Experience with Jenkins, Bitbucket, or similar CI/CD tools
• Familiarity with Git, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Compensation and Benefits: The pay rate for this position is between $75.00 and $89.32

per hour. Please note that the final rate may be contingent on experience and other factors.
