We work in a highly-collaborative, fast-paced environment with teams across Apple including Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, Software, and Marketing to define product objectives, design solutions, and validate the performance of those designs through mass production, all while keeping customer experience at the forefront. Our contributions have broad impacts - from the overall system size and shape down to the smallest details.
As a member of our Beats Accessories Product Design team, you would conceive, design, test, solve problems, and bring into production a diverse array of accessory products. We work closely with various multi-functional teams including Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, Software, and Marketing. Expertly integrating advanced components into brand new products means every single day is different here! This role may require international travel (~10%).
2+ years experience in product design, or equivalent\nBS Mechanical Engineering\nDemonstrated ability in plastic and metal part design\n3-D CAD skills\nExperience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, and geometric tolerancing\nAnalytical/problem solving skills\nSome experience with basic finite element analysis and general mechanical engineering analysis\nFlexibility and comfort working in a quickly changing environment\nAbility to travel internationally (10%+)
Experience working with overseas manufacturers\nConsumer electronics design experience\nIntegration of wireless antenna (GSM, GPS, Wifi) into mechanical enclosures\nExperience with component modules (Audio drivers, batteries, power supplies, camera modules, etc.)\nMS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
