Position Overview Citadel Security USA is seeking a professional Armed Retail Security Officer to provide protective services for a high-end jewelry retailer in Kansas City. This position is responsible for maintaining a secure shopping environment through professional customer interaction, constant situational awareness, and proactive loss prevention practices.
The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a highly visible security presence.
Primary Responsibilities Retail Security Operations - Maintain a professional armed security presence throughout the store.
- Continuously monitor sales floors, entrances, exits, and customer activity.
- Help deter theft, fraud, and other security concerns through visible patrols and observation.
- Identify suspicious behavior and respond according to company and client procedures.
- Protect merchandise, employees, customers, and company assets.
Customer Experience - Greet customers and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
- Provide assistance when appropriate while maintaining security awareness.
- Foster a welcoming environment without disrupting normal retail operations.
- Build positive working relationships with store management and employees.
Incident Response - Respond professionally to emergencies, disturbances, or suspicious activity.
- Notify management and law enforcement when required.
- Prepare accurate reports documenting incidents, observations, and security concerns.
- Preserve evidence and assist with investigations when necessary.
Policy Compliance - Follow all client orders and Citadel Security USA policies.
- Maintain firearm safety and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Participate in required training and maintain all licensing requirements.
- Maintain a professional appearance and always conduct.
Minimum Qualifications - Active Missouri Armed Security License (Guard Card).
- Personally owned duty firearm that complies with company and legal requirements.
- Must be legally authorized to possess and carry a firearm under federal and Missouri law.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to remain attentive and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout scheduled shifts.
- Successfully pass all required background screening and pre-employment requirements.
Preferred Qualifications - Previous armed security experience in retail or commercial environments.
- Experience working in jewelry stores, luxury retail, or high-value asset protection.
- Background in loss prevention or asset protection.
- Military, law enforcement, or customer-facing armed security experience is beneficial.
Work Environment - Climate-controlled luxury retail environment.
- Continuous standing, walking, and observation throughout the workday.
