Chief Information Officer

Overview: One of our client is seeking an experienced Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the institution’s overall technology strategy, digital transformation, and IT operations.

The CIO will be responsible for aligning technology initiatives with the university’s mission of delivering high-quality education while improving operational efficiency and student experience. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the university’s IT strategy and digital transformation roadmap
• Lead all enterprise IT operations, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, applications, and cloud services
• Oversee student information systems, ERP, LMS, and academic technologies
• Ensure data security, compliance, and regulatory standards for higher education institutions
• Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, and technology investments
• Build and lead high-performing IT teams across multiple locations
• Collaborate with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with academic and business goals
• Implement modern technologies such as AI, analytics, and cloud platforms to enhance institutional performance
• Ensure high availability of digital learning environments for students and faculty 

Required Qualifications:

• 15+ years of IT leadership experience, including enterprise technology strategy
• Proven experience as CIO, VP of IT, or senior technology leader
• Experience managing large IT teams and multi-million-dollar technology budgets
• Strong experience with:
• Enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, SIS, LMS)
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Cybersecurity frameworks
• Data governance and analytics
• Fluent in Spanish Prefeed 
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in higher education or academic institutions
• Experience leading digital transformation initiatives
• Familiarity with EdTech platforms and online learning systems
• Master’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business Administration
