·         Work Location: 10311 Wilson Road Blythewood, SC 29016. The initial engagement will require fully onsite work with SCDMV Engineers and Business Specialists in a real-time development and maintenance mode. Regional candidates will be given priority (SC/NC/GA). This will be a hybrid role allowing the candidate the opportunity for partial remote work up to one day a week unless project needs dictate otherwise.

·         Candidate Location: Candidate MUST be a SC resident or willing to relocate to SC prior to starting the role at their own expense.

Required Skills

·         8+ Years of Development with MICROFOCUS Visual COBOL in Windows Server 2019/2022, batch and under IIS.

·         4+ Years Experience with Visual Studio 2019/2022 including the ability to use the debugger

·         4+ years of Application programming against RDBMS (Oracle, SQL).

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:

SC DMV employs a multi-tiered architecture in its core business systems.  The business application tier utilizes microfocus visual Cobol running under IIS on MS windows 2022 servers.  This assignment will support development of new business functions and troubleshooting, modification, and enhancement of existing functions in this environment within the existing SC DMV application framework.  Projects may include business logic supporting on-line systems, batch programming, data extraction, and reports involving all SC DMV business areas.  This engineer will work closely and will be involved with both the UI tiers which are MS .net applications (vb.net, c#.net) and the database tiers in both sql and oracle.   Production trouble shooting support will be expected so some level of production support experience is required.  This contractor will be expected to work with minimal supervision, will be in direct contact with business area specialists, develop technical approaches and designs, code, test, and support these functions.  Communications skills must be excellent.
