Role: Network Engineer

Location: Frederick, Maryland

Client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer to lead the design| implementation| and optimization of enterprise-wide network infrastructure. This role is critical to ensuring the performance| security| and scalability of LGAs IT environment. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of hands-on experience in network engineering| with a strong background in infrastructure| cloud integration| and security protocols. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign| deploy| and maintain complex LAN| WAN| WLAN| and cloud-based network solutions.Configure and support network equipment including routers| switches| firewalls| load balancers| VPNs| and proxy servers.Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal speed| reliability| and uptime.Lead infrastructure upgrades| including service packs| patches| and security configurations.Implement and maintain network security protocols to protect data and systems.Collaborate with IT leadership and cross-functional teams to align network architecture with business goals.Provide Level 23 support and serve as an escalation point for network-related issues.Document network configurations| changes| and procedures for compliance and operational efficiency.Mentor junior engineers and contribute to strategic planning and technology roadmaps. Required QualificationsBachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science| Engineering| or related field.10 years of experience in network engineering and infrastructure management.Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCPIP| BGP| OSPF| IPSEC| QoS).Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS| Juniper| Palo Alto| and other enterprise-grade systems.Proficiency in network monitoring and diagnostic tools.Experience with cloud networking (Azure| AWS) and hybrid environments.Professional certifications such as CCNP| CCIE| or CISSP are highly preferred. Preferred SkillsExperience with SD-WAN| MPLS| VLANs| and VoIP.Familiarity with ITIL practices and enterprise SaaS platforms.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
