Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Category Specialist for a contract opportunity. This individual will support IT sourcing initiatives, vendor management activities, contract renewals, stakeholder engagement, and supplier negotiations. The role involves working with IT leadership, procurement professionals, and contract managers to ensure continuity across critical technology vendor relationships and to develop and execute sourcing strategies for IT spend categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with technology suppliers and vendors.
- Support contract renewals, pricing negotiations, and vendor discussions.
- Review Statements of Work (SOWs), pricing structures, and business terms.
- Partner with IT stakeholders to understand business requirements and sourcing needs.
- Assist with supplier evaluations, sourcing activities, and RFP processes.
- Lead supplier business reviews and help resolve vendor escalations.
- Identify opportunities to optimize vendor spend and consolidate supplier relationships.
- Collaborate with contract managers to ensure agreements are aligned with business needs before legal review.
- Analyze spend data to create sourcing plans and category strategies for assigned categories.
- Track and report on all value creation benefits, including cost savings and cost avoidance.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in IT sourcing, procurement, category management, or vendor management.
- Experience negotiating with software, SaaS, and technology vendors.
- A strong understanding of supplier relationship management and contract renewals.
- The ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Business or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn sourcing or contracting systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting enterprise technology procurement initiatives.
- Exposure to strategic sourcing projects and RFP management.
- Experience conducting supplier performance reviews and business reviews.
- Knowledge of AI or emerging technology vendors is a plus but not required.
