Senior Cloud Platform Developer

Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite per Week)
Duration: 12 Months Contract (Strong Possibility of Extension)
Rate: CAD $90/Hr INC 

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Platform Developer to support the evolution of a modern cloud-native platform with a strong focus on automation, developer experience, reliability, and operational excellence. This role is ideal for an experienced platform engineer who thrives in Kubernetes-based environments and enjoys building scalable, secure, and maintainable platform capabilities.

As a senior individual contributor, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting platform services, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and infrastructure tooling that empower engineering teams to deliver software efficiently and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud-native platform capabilities across Kubernetes, GitOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code environments.
• Develop and implement observability, governance, security, and automation frameworks.
• Establish and promote best practices for Kubernetes automation, GitOps workflows, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Build and support robust CI/CD pipelines to enhance the software development lifecycle.
• Drive platform reliability, resiliency, performance optimization, and cost efficiency initiatives.
• Develop automation frameworks, platform services, and control-plane capabilities.
• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and technical decision-making.
• Contribute to incident reviews, operational readiness, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Mentor team members and provide technical leadership through best practices and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure compliance with organizational safety, security, and operational standards.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) within cloud-native environments.
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes, including:
  • Controllers and Operators
  • Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs)
  • Crossplane Composition Frameworks
  • Kubernetes Automation
• Strong programming skills in one or more of the following:
  • Python
  • Go
  • C#
• Experience building automation systems, platform services, controllers, or infrastructure tooling.
• Hands-on experience with:
  • ArgoCD
  • Helm
  • Terraform
  • Crossplane
• Strong understanding of GitOps principles and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.
• Experience implementing observability, monitoring, governance, and operational excellence practices.
• Proven experience with performance tuning, resiliency engineering, cost optimization, and system-level troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently and drive projects from concept to completion.

• Experience building or supporting data platform environments such as:

• Experience contributing to architecture reviews, RFCs, and technical governance.
