Description: We are seeking a hands-on Plant Engineer to oversee the maintenance, reliability, and continuous operation of a food manufacturing facility in
Bronx, NY. This role requires a strong technical background in both mechanical and electrical systems, along with the leadership ability to manage maintenance personnel and troubleshoot production issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on maintenance and engineering support throughout the facility.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems.
- Maintain, optimize, and support packaging and production equipment.
- Identify and resolve equipment failures and production issues to minimize downtime.
- Lead and manage a team of mechanics and maintenance personnel.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability.
- Utilize computer-based maintenance systems and other software tools to track repairs, maintenance activities, and equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards.
Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of electrical systems and controls.
- Extensive experience with mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience maintaining packaging machinery and production equipment.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems and equipment.
- Proven ability to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions.
- Previous experience leading, supervising, or managing maintenance personnel.
- Strong computer skills, including maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
Requirements
- Must be a hands-on engineer willing to actively work on equipment and machinery.
- Ability to work a mandatory Monday-Saturday schedule.
- Must be available for Saturday work, which is compensated in addition to base salary.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting salary:$90,000-$100,000+ annually
