Summary

Job Description Summary
The Power Performance team within GE Vernova Wind is seeking an Engineer to contribute across both power curve testing and system-level power performance simulation. This dual-focus role bridges contractual and validation field testing with integrated power curve modeling, drawing on aerodynamic, electrical, controls, and other sub-system inputs. The engineer works with autonomy on defined deliverables, contributes to technical reviews, and engages with cross-functional teams. This role reports to the Power Performance Leader within Wind Engineering

  • Apply understanding of atmospheric science and test data implications on simulation accuracy and precision; escalate improvement recommendations
  • Apply IEC test standards and GE-specific test requirements; demonstrate familiarity with various power curve test methods and their applicability, including site calibration methods
  • Execute contractual power performance tests from planning through final reporting; perform tasks within an overall test program with limited guidance
  • Analyze power curve test data; apply knowledge of contractual obligations related to MPPT, terrain assessment, and risk-of-failing calculations
  • Contribute to root cause analyses of field performance anomalies
  • Apply understanding of turbine controls and operability as they relate to how a turbine sets its operation
  • Maintain and improve analysis tools; apply proficiency with MATLAB and Python
  • Contribute to lessons learned, best practices, and standardization of engineering workflows

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience
