Job Description

The Lead Archer Architect will own the architectural direction and technical decision-making for the RSA Archer platform within the GRC Archer Team. This is a senior individual-contributor role requiring Associate Director-level maturity, combining deep hands-on RSA Archer expertise with enterprise architecture, integration, security, and GRC knowledge.

The architect will translate complex governance, risk, regulatory, compliance, and security requirements into secure, scalable, and maintainable Archer solutions. The position will guide application design, workflows, access controls, reporting, integrations, data flows, platform performance, releases, upgrades, and production readiness.

This individual will work closely with Risk & Compliance, Security, Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Operations, and external vendors while influencing major technical decisions without relying on formal people-management authority.

Additional Notes:

  • Candidates should have substantial hands-on RSA Archer architecture experience, not simply general GRC experience.
  • Financial services or another highly regulated environment is preferred.
  • The position requires someone capable of providing technical leadership and influencing cross-functional teams without direct management authority.

Responsibilities

  • Lead target-state architecture and technical roadmaps for RSA Archer capabilities, integrations, platform health, and lifecycle management.
  • Translate GRC and regulatory requirements into sustainable Archer applications, workflows, access models, reports, and dashboards.
  • Design and govern data feeds and REST API integrations with Snowflake, Navex, ProcessUnity, identity services, and other enterprise systems.
  • Establish architecture decision records, configuration standards, testing expectations, release controls, and production-readiness criteria.
  • Evaluate security, performance, resilience, maintainability, and technical-debt trade-offs for significant platform decisions.
  • Lead technical delivery across cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Resolve technical ambiguity, dependencies, and competing priorities.
  • Own platform-health and technical-risk reduction strategies covering upgrades, incidents, performance, testing, and support readiness.
  • Drive knowledge transfer, runbook quality, and operating practices that reduce dependency on individual experts.
  • Provide architectural direction across Risk & Compliance, Security, Engineering, Operations, Enterprise Architecture, and vendor stakeholders.

  • Strong RSA Archer architecture experience across:

  • Python
  • Java
  • .NET
  • Experience using development skills for integration and/or automation scenarios.
  • Ability to translate governance, risk, compliance, security, and business requirements into architecture and technical decisions.

Preferred Skills

  • RSA Archer integrations with Snowflake.
  • RSA Archer integrations with Navex.

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Soft Skills

  • Strong architectural judgment and technical decision-making.
  • Ability to balance GRC requirements with security, performance, maintainability, and technical debt.
