Job Title: SAP S/4HANA Core Finance & RevRec (RAR) Consultant

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Core Finance & Revenue Recognition (RevRec) Consultant to lead and support the design, implementation, and optimization of our financial management and revenue accounting systems.

In this role, you will bridge corporate accounting and IT teams to implement robust Financial Accounting (FI), Controlling (CO), and SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) solutions aligned with ASC 606 and IFRS 15 accounting standards. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of core ledger processes, Order-to-Cash (O2C) integration, contract modifications, performance obligations (POBs), and Universal Journal (ACDOCA) architecture.


Key Responsibilities

1. Core Finance (S/4HANA FI/CO) Architecture & Configuration

Lead functional workshops to gather requirements, analyze gap-fit, and design end-to-end Record-to-Report (R2R) solutions.

Hands-on configuration of S/4HANA Core Finance components, including General Ledger (G/L), Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Asset Accounting (AA), and Bank/Cash Management.

Design, configure, and optimize Management Accounting/Controlling (CO) processes: Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), Internal Orders, and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA / Margin Analysis).

Leverage the S/4HANA Universal Journal (ACDOCA) for real-time reporting, multi-GAAP compliance, and parallel ledger setups.

2. Revenue Accounting & Recognition (RAR) Execution

Lead the functional architecture and configuration of SAP Revenue Accounting and Reporting (RAR) to ensure compliance with ASC 606 / IFRS 15.

Configure key RAR components: Revenue Accounting Items (RAIs), Revenue Contracts, Performance Obligations (POBs), Transaction Price Allocations, and Contract Modifications.

Design and execute revenue posting, reconciliation, and month-end close procedures within SAP RAR.

Configure integration between SAP RAR and upstream source systems (SAP SD, Sales Order Management, Billing/BRIM, or third-party CRM/CPQ platforms).

3. Cross-Module Integration & Data Migration

Partner with Order-to-Cash (O2C) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) functional streams to align upstream transactional data with downstream finance and revenue recognition impact.

Oversee data conversion, historical contract migration, legacy data extraction, and reconciliation strategies for financial master and transactional data.

Write Functional Specifications (FS) for custom enhancements, technical interfaces (APIs/OData/IDocs), workflows, and custom reports (RICEFW).

4. Testing, Governance & Support

Develop test strategies and lead execution for Unit Testing, Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Conduct end-user training, deliver user manuals, and support change management across corporate finance and revenue accounting teams.

Provide hypercare, L3 post-implementation support, and continuously optimize core financial processes.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Experience: 8+ years of SAP ERP implementation experience, with at least 3-5 years focused on SAP S/4HANA Core Finance and Revenue Accounting (RAR).

Accounting Standards: In-depth knowledge of ASC 606 and IFRS 15 accounting principles (e.g., revenue recognition timing, variable consideration, contract asset/liability handling).

Technical/Functional Expertise:

S/4HANA Finance (General Ledger, ACDOCA, Ledger/Parallel Accounting, AR/AP, Asset Accounting).

SAP RAR configuration (RAI processing, POB rules, Revenue Schedules, Postings).

Strong knowledge of SAP SD / Sales Order & Billing interfaces.

Methodologies: Experience with SAP Activate Methodology, Agile execution, and enterprise data migration tools (LTMC, MWB, or Migration Cockpit).

Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
