JOB SUMMARY

Join a collaborative team where you?ll help develop and improve investment casting processes and tooling that support growth in the aerospace and industrial markets. In this role, you?ll learn and apply proven best-practice casting methods, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and work hands-on to identify and solve process challenges that affect quality, yield, and rework. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
    \t
  • Interpret customer specifications relative to establishing internal written NDT specifications.
    • \t
  • Develop the overall metallurgical casting process from gate design to establishing casting parameters.
    • \t
  • Assess the physical structure and behavior of metals and metal distribution systems within DS/SX systems.
    • \t
  • Investigate metallurgical failure using root cause analysis.
    • \t
  • Publish reports on research and completed tests using data-based decisions.
    • \t
  • Identify and improve process yields using various data analysis techniques (statistical, mathematical, DOE, 6-Sigma, etc.) to uncover variables in the process.
    • \t
  • Document work procedures and processes.
    • \t
  • Routinely audit production lots for adherence to established techniques and to ensure the repeatability of the results.
    • \t
  • Identify, evaluate and implement new process technologies that will extend manufacturing and product capabilities.
    • \t
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure organization objectives are achieved.
    • \t
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner.
    • \t
  • Improve labor utilization and reduce cost.

QUALIFICATIONS
    \t
  • Education: BS in Engineering or related technical field
    • \t
  • Experience: 0-5 years? experience in mechanical or product engineering in the investment casting industry. Increasing levels of responsibility.
    • \t
  • Certifications/Licenses: None

Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of DS/SX casting process, shell parameters and metallurgical impact. Working knowledge of solidification modeling. Knowledge and application of DS/SX starter design and proven improvement in DS/SX yields and product quality. Able to interpret customer drawings and navigate models. Good written communication skills to develop CPP processing and work instructions. Good verbal communication skills and can feel at ease communicating with customer engineering groups. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and documentation skills. Assertiveness.

  • Working Environment: Office Environment. Occasional work required on weekends.

  • Physical Demands: Sitting/Standing for extended periods of time, able to lift 20lbs, extended periods of time using a computer screen.

  • Travel Requirements: 10%

  • Required PPE: Check for required PPE in areas you may be working.
    • \t
  • Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
    • \t
  • Steel Toed Shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant.
