We are looking for Database Engineer for our client in Jackson, MI

Job Title: Database Engineer

Job Location: Jackson, MI

Job Type: Contract

Job Overview:

Responsible for managing database operations, including installation, migration, performance optimization, and high availability.
Ensures system reliability, supports troubleshooting, and drives improvements in database architecture and processes across a multi-location environment.

Responsibilities:

Oversee database installation, configuration, and migration activities.
Support and manage SQL Server environments, including AlwaysOn clusters.
Perform database migrations across platforms, including cloud environments.
Monitor system performance and conduct tuning to resolve bottlenecks.
Troubleshoot backup, restore, and system issues to ensure data integrity.
Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies.
Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements and operational processes.
Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
Recommend improvements in database design, architecture, and technology.

Skills:

Strong expertise in SQL Server installation and administration.
Experience with AlwaysOn clustering and high availability solutions.
Knowledge of database migration strategies and tools.
Proficiency in scripting using PowerShell or batch scripting.
Strong performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.
Familiarity with database monitoring tools.
Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup solutions.
Understanding of multiple database platforms and cloud technologies.

Qualification And Education:

Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.

Experience:

Experience working on production database systems.
Experience with database migration, installation, upgrades, and patching.
Experience with relational and non-relational database systems preferred.
