Position Summary
The Senior Product Analyst, Legal – Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) is a key technology role responsible for supporting and evolving Contract Lifecycle Management solutions across the organization. This position serves as a technical and functional subject matter expert for CLM technology, partnering closely with Legal, Procurement, IT, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions.
The organization currently utilizes Sirion as its CLM platform. The successful candidate will develop deep expertise in the CLM platform, including its configuration, integrations, APIs, data structures, workflows, automations, and reporting capabilities. This individual will own and support the CLM technology blueprint and help drive continuous improvement, enhancements, and new capabilities.
The Senior Product Analyst will gather and translate business requirements into technical and functional requirements, develop detailed epics and user stories, support solution design and configuration, and coordinate testing and deployment. The role will also work closely with internal technical teams and external delivery partners to ensure solutions are implemented effectively and align with enterprise IT standards.
A strong understanding of APIs, JSON, Python, automation, AI technologies, and system integrations is important. The ideal candidate does not necessarily need to be a software developer but should be technically proficient enough to understand how CLM systems interact with other enterprise applications and how APIs, data, automation, and AI capabilities can be leveraged to improve contract management processes.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional who can operate comfortably between business stakeholders and technical teams and who is experienced working in an Agile product environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical and functional subject matter expert for Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) technology, with a focus on the Sirion platform.
- Partner with Legal, Procurement, IT, and business stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into technology solutions.
- Own and maintain the CLM technology roadmap, platform blueprint, processes, and configuration strategy.
- Gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements.
- Develop detailed epics, features, and user stories and work with development/configuration teams through implementation, testing, and acceptance.
- Configure and support CLM workflows, templates, business rules, metadata, integrations, and other platform capabilities.
- Analyze and support API connections and integrations between the CLM platform and other enterprise applications.
- Understand and work with JSON data structures and APIs to troubleshoot integrations, validate data, and support technical solutions.
- Utilize or understand Python and other scripting/programming capabilities to support data manipulation, automation, integrations, analysis, or troubleshooting.
- Evaluate opportunities to leverage automation and AI within CLM processes, including understanding how AI tools and technologies can interact with CLM data, workflows, and enterprise systems.
- Partner with technical teams to identify opportunities to automate manual contract management processes and improve efficiency.
- Troubleshoot functional and technical issues related to CLM workflows, integrations, data, and system behavior.
- Drive the evaluation and selection of technology solutions in the Legal and CLM space based on business requirements, technical feasibility, value, and priorities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external onshore/offshore delivery partners to design, develop, test, and implement CLM solutions.
- Develop and maintain documentation for CLM processes, configurations, integrations, and technical requirements.
- Support the development, execution, and measurement of CLM technology performance metrics and KPIs.
- Conduct market research and evaluate emerging CLM technologies, automation capabilities, AI solutions, and industry best practices.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, analysis, reports, and recommendations to business and technology stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, process optimization, and increased adoption of CLM capabilities.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Legal Operations, Supply Chain, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in technology analysis, product analysis, business systems analysis, product management, or a related IT role.
- 3+ years of experience working with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms or related enterprise contract management technology.
- Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into technical and functional requirements.
- Experience working with enterprise SaaS applications and technology platforms.
- Moderate experience with APIs, including API usage, integrations, connections, troubleshooting, or data exchange between systems.
- Working knowledge of JSON and the ability to understand and work with JSON-based data.
- Working knowledge of Python or similar scripting/programming languages for automation, data manipulation, integrations, analysis, or troubleshooting.
- Understanding of automation technologies and concepts, including how automated workflows can interact with enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with AI technologies and AI-enabled automation, including an understanding of how AI tools can interact with CLM platforms, data, and business processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex business and technical issues.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, IT, developers, vendors, and external delivery partners.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with Sirion or another leading CLM platform.
- Experience configuring CLM platforms, including workflows, templates, business rules, metadata, approvals, and integrations.
- Experience with CLM integrations and APIs.
- Experience working with enterprise integration technologies, web services, REST APIs, or middleware.
- Experience using Python or scripting to support automation, integrations, data transformation, or troubleshooting.
- Experience implementing or supporting AI/automation capabilities within enterprise applications.
- Experience integrating CLM with systems such as ERP, CRM, procurement, document management, identity/access management, or other enterprise platforms.
- Experience working with external technology vendors or onshore/offshore delivery partners.
- Experience with contract analytics, reporting, dashboards, or data visualization.
- Familiarity with Legal Operations, Procurement, Contract Management, or related business processes.
- Experience driving technology modernization, process improvement, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Relevant certifications in Agile, product management, business analysis, CLM, or technology are a plus.
