Oracle Fusion Financial Functional Lead (Advisory BA) for a contract role with our client.

Role OverviewEnsure all Phase 2 and ongoing enhancements align with financial process integrity, policy, and reporting needs. Act as the bridge between finance leadership and technical teams, validating that enhancements advance maturity and operational efficiency rather than recreate legacy behaviors.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Solution ManagementPreparation of people for new implementation. Support the Architect in estimating effort, sequencing, and cost implications for new initiatives. Participate in testing strategy oversight (ensure functional coverage and business validation criteria).
Impact AnalysisUnderstanding of process integrations/adjustments required for new implementation. Evaluate proposed enhancements for functional soundness, configuration alignment, and downstream impact (e.g., reporting, reconciliation, audit). Lead client workshops to gather and analyze business requirements for enhancements translating these needs into functional design documents. Advise on training content requirements for new Oracle Cloud Fusion financial features; coordinate with the Training Management Lead.
Prioritization and OptimizationFor approved implementations the regular cycle of evaluation of oracle cloud capabilities or legacy system integrations to achieve functional needs, Lead business impact assessments with Finance and Procurement stakeholders-clarify requirements, dependencies, and readiness. Identify opportunities for system enhancements and optimizations and advise stakeholders on the business value and impact of proposed enhancements.
Data Integrity & ReportingDefine data integrity standards for historical data (Epicor retirement). Review reporting and data structures to ensure alignment between business needs and available system metrics.
Maturity ModelEvaluation of impact on maturity advancement. Assist in definition of next phase of maturity potential - oracle foci vs. business need foci. Contribute to the quarterly maturity model review, scoring functional process adoption and identifying improvement targets. Assist in definition of next phase of maturity potential - oracle foci vs. business need foci.
Expected Skills & Experience3-7 years implementing or advising on Oracle Fusion Financials, with emphasis on process standardization and controls.
Strong grounding in public sector accounting operations, financial close, procure-to-pay, and order-to-cash.
Experience conducting fit-gap analyses and functional impact assessments.
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to engage CFO-level stakeholders and IT leads.
Understanding of change-management principles and end-user training implications.
Ability to provide strategic direction and technical leadership for Oracle projects, ensuring alignment between the system and business objectives.
