Partner with the best

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll analyze the software running on production networks, identify improvements and propose cost-cutting solutions. Collaborating throughout the organization, you'll support multiple products and deliver on the design of customer solutions. You'll ensure our customers manage their security traffic in a more reliable and scalable way.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • Investigating customer escalations and providing mitigation.
  • Working on tooling to automate production debugging.
  • Setting up continuous production profiling, identifying areas of cost reduction, and proposing new designs.
  • Creating and enhancing features and functionality, from conception and design through to testing and deployment.
  • Validating the result of cost reduction and providing benchmark results.
  • Conducting code reviews and helping other engineers to optimize their code.
  • Working with development and system QA teams to create regression tests that cover changes to our software.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent experience
  • Have an active security clearance.
  • Possess experience working in networking, cloud, or distributed computing environment.
  • Demonstrate experience programming with C++.
  • Have working knowledge with Linux or UNIX operating systems.
  • Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills and ability to write design documentation

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $121,400 - $218,600/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
