OverviewLMI is seeking a Platform/Cloud Engineer to support the development and deployment of web applications for Army predictive maintenance initiatives. ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities:- Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure and platform services to support web applications
- Build and manage Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration and application deployment
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and other automation tools
- Create and manage containerized applications using Docker and Helm charts
- Implement infrastructure as code practices for consistent and repeatable deployments
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize cloud resource utilization
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to help grow the team's platform engineering capabilities
- Lead architecture discussions and provide strategic guidance on cloud infrastructure and deployment strategies
- Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and DevOps best practices
- Meet with Army managers and representatives in a consultative capacity to discuss infrastructure requirements, security considerations, and technical solutions
- Ensure security best practices and compliance requirements are met across all cloud environments
- Document infrastructure configurations, deployment processes, and operational procedures
- Comfortable working independently and as a member of a team, with demonstrated ability to work in strategic and consultant-oriented environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Percentage of Travel Required: 10%
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and/or equivalent work experience
- 5 years' experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
- 5 years' experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Experience with Docker containerization and Helm chart development
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or similar tools
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
- Experience planning, analyzing, designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level platform infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience in leadership roles or technical mentorship
- Clearance: Active Secret
Additional Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with AWS cloud services and architecture
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipeline development and management
- Knowledge of Python, Bash, or other scripting languages for automation
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or similar)
- Experience deploying and managing applications in classified environments
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks for government systems
- Experience with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd, or similar)
- Knowledge of the Army software development process and its technologies
- Background working in strategic planning or consultant environments supporting government or DoD clients
- Experience integrating machine learning and analytical tools into platform infrastructure
- 7+ years of directly related experience
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Target salary range: $120,000 - 160,000
