Summary

Location: Lansing, MI
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Onsite 2 days per week required; must reside within a 60-mile radius of Lansing).
Employment Type: Contract
Interview Mode: Onsite In-Person Interview Required.

Core Responsibilities

Architectural Leadership: Lead the design and development of complex Java/JEE computer systems, ensuring alignment with business requirements and state standards.
Modernization: Enhance the stability and functionality of existing applications using Spring Boot, Microservices, and Cloud-native technologies.
Data Modeling: Design and review logical and physical data models in Oracle and Postgres; lead complex data migrations from Oracle to PostgreSQL.
Cloud Strategy: Recommend cost-effective solutions in AWS, utilizing services like S3, EC2, Lambda, and EKS/ECS Fargate.
Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to developers, perform code reviews, and maintain the application technology roadmap.
CI/CD & DevOps: Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and manage containerized environments via OpenShift and Kubernetes.

Required Experience & Skills

Java Architecture: 12+ years of experience architecting and designing complex Java systems.
Backend Development: 8+ years using Spring/SpringBoot 3.0 and Hibernate/JPA.
Frontend Frameworks: 5+ years of development using Angular or React JS.
Database Mastery: 10+ years in logical/physical data modeling (SQL/PL-SQL) and Oracle-to-Postgres migration.
Cloud & DevOps: 5 years of AWS experience and 3+ years creating CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
Containerization: 5+ years in JBOSS Enterprise SOA and container environments (OpenShift/Kubernetes).
Methodology: 5+ years using CMM/CMMI Level 3 practices and Agile TDD processes.
