Job Title: Senior Juniper Network Engineer
Location: Lorton, VA (on-site)
Type: Contract
Compensation: $89.50 - $110.00 per hour
Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (candidates must be able to work in the US without sponsorship)
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert-level network engineering support for the ESA V program supporting the Department of Justice in Lorton, VA.
- Manage and maintain Juniper SRX-series routers, Juniper EX-series switches, Cisco Firepower ASA firewalls, and other network security and infrastructure equipment.
- Implement and monitor security best practices in accordance with FISMA regulations, including configuring firewalls, VPNs, and high availability setups.
- Design, develop, and maintain technical documentation and system diagrams for field communications systems.
- Collaborate with customer personnel, vendors, and contractors to design and specify private IP and Internet circuits, ensuring high availability and security.
- Support the configuration and troubleshooting of network components, maintaining secure and resilient networks.
- Participate in the configuration management process for secure modifications to network devices.
- Ensure synchronization of NTP across all devices for system consistency.
- Liaise with senior management and provide briefings on system status and issues as required.
Requirements: - BA degree with 12+ years of experience or MA degree with 10+ years of experience; in lieu, a high school diploma with 4+ years in relevant roles.
- Current eligibility for a Government Public Trust security investigation; security clearance required prior to start.
- Extensive experience supporting and maintaining mission-critical, complex network systems.
- Proven expertise with Juniper SRX-series routers (JNCIP-SEC or JNCIE-SEC preferred), Juniper EX-series switches, and Cisco Firepower ASA firewalls.
- Strong background in network security, FISMA compliance, and high availability configurations.
- Experience with VPNs, network troubleshooting, and secure remote management tools such as TrippLite serial consoles and Ethernet & TDMA circuits.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaborative skills, with the ability to brief senior management.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
