Job Location: New York, new York
A global bank is seeking a IT Business Analyst to support a Compliance Department project. In this role, you will act as the vital bridge between our business stakeholders and our technical teams and external vendors. The IT Business Analyst (Regulatory/Compliance Vendor System Implementation) will support the selection, internal approval, implementation, and testing of a vendor regulatory technology solution intended to enhance the management of Laws, Rules and Regulations , regulatory inventory workflows, and related compliance risk management processes. The responsibilities will involve supporting internal IT governance and approval processes, coordinating implementation activities, and assisting with user acceptance testing ( UAT ), data migration, and process design. The IT Business Analyst ( Regulatory/Compliance Vendor System Implementation) will have a strong understanding of software implementation and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tool Implementation Support:
- Support the gap analysis between vendor standard features and user needs and managing vendor deliverables.
- Support the implementation of the selected vendor solution, including coordination of configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live activities.
- Support the implementation of user roles in the selected vendor solution, including definition and validation of user roles, access requirements, workflow steps, approval paths.
- Support the setup of data connectivity between internal IT repositories and the selected vendor solution, including data integration planning, data mapping, validation of integrated data, and coordination of business input required for implementation.
- Maintain documentation of requirements, decisions, dependencies, assumptions, and open items throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support UAT planning and execution, including drafting test cases and user acceptance criteria, coordinating participation in UAT, tracking defects and issues, and supporting retesting and validation of fixes.
- Coordinate with external vendor and internal IT teams on implementation activities.
- Support change management efforts, including drafting user guides, conducting training sessions, and providing post-go-live support to Compliance end-users.
- Process Mapping:
- Map current-state ("As-Is") and future-state ("To-Be") business processes, identifying bottlenecks and opportunities for optimization.
- Support preparation of documentation required for internal IT governance processes, including architecture, security, AI, and other governance reviews.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Support the Project Manager (PM) as liaison between the business and tech teams, managing expectations and ensuring alignment on project timeline and deliverables.
- Coordination:
- Support shepherding the sought tooling solution through internal approval processes with various IT departments.
- Coordinate across local IT teams, Head Office IT teams, Compliance, and vendor to support timely completion of questionnaires, presentations, diagrams, and other related documentation required for internal IT committee submissions.
- Track dependencies, approvals, and follow-up actions in coordination with the PM
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or in a similar technical-adjacent role.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Understanding of AI terminology and processes
- Experience supporting SaaS implementation projects, including requirements gathering, testing, and coordination across Compliance and IT teams.
- Strong ability to document business processes, functional requirements, and technical requirements.
- Experience supporting UAT planning, test case development, defect tracking, and validation.
- Familiarity with integration concepts, user access / role design, and software delivery lifecycle activities.
- Comfort working in a regulated environment with formal governance, approval, and documentation requirements.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Understanding of third-party risk management IT due diligence
- Experience with supporting implementation of RegTech tools (e.g. Archer)
- Experience building API specifications and supporting API / integration-related projects
Familiarity with regulatory inventory, obligation management, GRC, and compliance risk management
