SAIC is seeking a Defense Systems Engineer for our Crane, IN location.

This is a technically challenging position requiring working with complex military systems, systems integration, network engineering, and cyber security. The successful candidate will support the customer by developing, defining and testing system requirements and analyzing computational technologies to recommend optimal hardware and software solutions for military use. Ultimately, they will translate customer needs into comprehensive technical solutions by leading various systems engineering activities. Additionally, the candidate will possess the skills listed:

Abilities and Experience:
  • Ability to integrate an Electronic Warfare (EW) system into shipboard Command and Control (C2) systems.
  • Interface with and utilize the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise (CANES) with experience in each CANES variant.
  • Knowledge of Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) adaptations and ensure the transfer of information to live-data sharing on CEC systems.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, including IP and non-IP-based systems, and ability to integrate different communication methods (IoT, sensors, proprietary protocols).
  • Ability to network interfaces for RF collections and transmission systems. Experience with designing, testing, analyzing RF systems and RF simulation tools/software (EG., ADS, HFSS, CST, CAMEO, Matlab).
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate within a team environment as well as present Project Roadmap and Status to Program Offices, Senior Military Leadership as well as leadership at NSWC Crane.
  • MUST be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, ship is required.


Qualifications

Education and Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree(s) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering and five (5) years or more experience; Master's and three (3) years or more experience.
  • Posses relevant certifications (EG., Naval Eng Cert, SEP levels, IEEE, ARRL etc).
