Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Migration Architect to lead enterprisescale migration initiatives focused on migrating data assets analytics platforms and reporting ecosystems across Azure subscriptions and cloud environments within the Oil Gas industry
This role will drive migration strategy architecture governance and execution for complex data ecosystems involving upstream midstream downstream trading and corporate data domains The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in Azure cloud technologies largescale data migrations analytics modernization and enterprise data architecture
Key Responsibilities
Migration Strategy Architecture
Architect and lead migration strategies for moving data assets across Azure subscriptions tenants and cloud environments
Define migration frameworks reusable accelerators and reference architectures
Assess currentstate ecosystems and design scalable targetstate architectures
Develop migration waves dependency mapping and cutover strategies
Azure Data Platform Architecture
Design and implement migration architectures involving
Azure Databricks for largescale data processing and modernization
Azure Data Factory ADF for orchestration and pipeline migration
Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
Azure Synapse Analytics
Azure SQL platforms
Power BI semantic models Tabular Models
Azure Key Vault
Azure Purview
Eventdriven architectures and streaming platforms
Responsibilities include
Migrate Databricks notebooks clusters workflows libraries and Unity Catalog assets across subscriptions
Migrate and optimize ADF pipelines linked services triggers datasets and integration runtimes
Lead migration and modernization of Power BI semantic models and enterprise tabular models
Ensure lineage preservation across reporting semantic and consumption layers
Design scalable medallion architecture patterns Bronze Silver Gold layers
Define metadatadriven migration approaches
Data Modeling Analytics
Lead migration of enterprise data warehouses data marts and analytical platforms
Design and migrate dimensional models semantic layers and tabular models
Ensure reporting continuity across downstream consumers
Support modernization from legacy ETL to cloudnative ELT architectures
Oil Gas Domain Responsibilities
Strong understanding of Oil Gas business processes and datasets including
Upstream production and well data
Reservoir and subsurface datasets
Drilling and completions data
Midstream transportation and logistics
Refining and downstream operations
Trading and commodity analytics
Asset reliability and maintenance datasets
Enterprise finance supply chain and operational data domains
Expected responsibilities
Translate business processes into migration architecture patterns
Support migration of operational and analytical datasets used across Oil Gas value chains
Partner with business SMEs to preserve critical business logic and calculations
Governance Security Compliance
Implement secure migration patterns across subscriptions
Design RBAC models and managed identity strategies
Maintain metadata lineage governance and audit requirements
Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards
Delivery Leadership
Lead architecture workshops and migration planning sessions
Drive execution across multiple migration pods and engineering teams
Manage risks dependencies reconciliation and postmigration stabilization
Provide executive updates and technical leadership
Required Qualifications
10 years in data architecture cloud engineering or migration programs
5 years designing enterprise Azure data platforms
Experience leading subscriptiontosubscription migrations
Strong experience in enterprise analytics modernization
Strong Oil Gas industry experience
