We are seeking an experienced Manager of Network Services to lead the firm’s global network engineering, operations, and architecture function. Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure Services, this role is responsible for the strategy, performance, reliability, security, and continuous improvement of the firm’s network infrastructure.

The Manager of Network Services may work a hybrid work schedule in our Washington, DC office or may work 100% virtual/remote in a firm-approved U.S. state.

The Manager of Network Services will lead a team responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and support of the firm’s voice, LAN, WAN, cloud connectivity, internet services, and network security platforms. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, demonstrated people leadership, and a collaborative approach to supporting a complex, global 24x7 environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Network Engineers supporting the firm’s global network environment.
  • Manage team workload, workflow, staffing, performance, training, and on-call engineering schedules.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of voice, LAN, WAN, wireless, cloud networking, internet edge, and network security services.
  • Establish and maintain network policies, procedures, standards, documentation, and operational controls.
  • Ensure compliance with change-management, maintenance, disaster recovery, business continuity, security, and documentation requirements.
  • Partner with Information Security, Compliance, Systems Infrastructure, Enterprise Applications, Service Desk, and Technical Architecture teams to deliver reliable and secure technology services.
  • Lead network modernization initiatives, including SASE, SD-WAN, cloud networking, automation, and security enhancements.
  • Review and approve network designs, implementation plans, and infrastructure standards to ensure alignment with business, cybersecurity, and operational requirements.
  • Manage network hardware lifecycle, capacity planning, availability, and performance optimization.
  • Coordinate with IT leadership, project managers, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are appropriately planned, staffed, monitored, and delivered.
  • Develop operational metrics and provide clear reporting on network availability, performance, service delivery, and improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate regular operational meetings, service reviews, and technical strategy discussions.

 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of five years of experience leading network engineering and operations teams.
  • Experience supporting a global, 24x7 enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing geographically distributed technical teams.
  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco routing and switching technologies, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, QoS, and TCP/IP networking.
  • Experience with SASE technologies, including SD-WAN, Zero Trust, and secure remote access.
  • Strong knowledge of network security technologies, including VPNs, firewalls, NAC, IDS/IPS, and secure remote-access solutions.
  • Experience with cloud networking, wireless networking, internet edge infrastructure, high-availability design, and network monitoring and performance-management platforms.
  • Familiarity with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform or comparable network automation tools.
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, business continuity, capacity planning, and operational governance.
  • Strong project-management, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a professional services, legal, financial services, or other highly regulated environment.
  • Cisco CCNP Enterprise, CCIE, or Cisco SD-WAN certification.
  • CISSP, CISM, or a comparable security certification.
  • Prior experience managing IT services within a law firm or legal environment.

The successful candidate will build and retain a high-performing network engineering organization, deliver measurable improvements in operational maturity and service reliability, and help ensure exceptional technology service delivery for the firm’s attorneys, business professionals, and clients worldwide.
