Overview

TalentFish is casting a line for a Technical Architect, Salesforce Commerce Cloud. This is a 12-month+ contract with potential for hire after 12 months. This Salesforce Technical Architect will provide deep technical leadership in the next phase of a digital commerce transformation for a pharmaceutical client.

• The role will focus on architecting and implementing Salesforce Commerce Cloud (Demandware) solutions, supporting the decoupling of the commerce environment, and enabling a modern order management ecosystem integrated with SAP and OMS platforms.

What You Bring to the Role (Ideal Experience)

• Extensive hands-on experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (Demandware) architecture and development.
• Strong technical expertise in Commerce Cloud (SFCC), Commerce on Demand, and headless/decoupled commerce architectures.
• Proven experience designing and implementing B2B and B2C commerce solutions, including brand-owned storefronts.
• Deep understanding of API integrations, microservices, and middleware layers, especially with SAP and OMS platforms.
• Experience building and integrating Order Management Systems (OMS) for order capture and fulfillment.
• Strong knowledge of frontend and backend technologies within SFCC (ISML, controllers, pipelines, OCAPI, SCAPI, etc.).
• Experience working in complex enterprise environments, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven ability to lead and collaborate with offshore development teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with experience in client-facing technical leadership roles.
• Must be based in the U.S. and available for key meetings across time zones.

• Salesforce Certified B2C Commerce Developer (Demandware)
• Salesforce Certified B2B Commerce Developer (CloudCraze)
• Salesforce Certified AI Associate (nice to have)

What You'll Do (Skills Used in this Position)

• Define and implement technical architecture for Salesforce Commerce Cloud solutions.
• Lead the technical design and build of B2B and B2C digital commerce platforms.
• Drive the decoupling of the commerce layer, enabling headless and scalable architectures.
• Design and develop integrations between SFCC, SAP, and OMS platforms.
• Support the implementation of an OMS layer for order capture, orchestration, and fulfillment.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects and business stakeholders on technical feasibility and design alignment.
• Provide hands-on guidance and oversight to onshore and offshore development teams.
• Establish and enforce development standards, best practices, and performance optimization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the commerce ecosystem
• Support code reviews, deployments, and release management processes.
• Contribute to technical roadmap planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Compensation and Employment

The expected pay range for this position is $85 - $110 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
