Equipment & Tool Engineer (Associate / Experienced / Senior)Location: Everett, WA
Overviewis seeking an Equipment & Tool Engineer to join the Production Engineering team in Everett, WA. This role supports manufacturing operations through the development, implementation, and maintenance of production equipment and tooling solutions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineering professional who thrives in a production environment, drives process improvements, and collaborates closely with manufacturing teams to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Develop equipment and tooling concepts, specifications, and solutions to support aerospace manufacturing requirements.
- Support tool fabrication, implementation, and production use through tooling liaison activities.
- Participate in design reviews and gather engineering and manufacturing requirements.
- Create and revise engineering drawings, models, and documentation supporting production build plans.
- Develop equipment and tooling specifications and purchase requests for externally sourced products and services.
- Ensure designs comply with safety, reliability, maintainability, producibility, ergonomic, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop inspection procedures, operating instructions, preventive maintenance plans, and training documentation.
- Manage tooling and equipment projects, including budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Provide direct engineering support to production operations and manufacturing teams.
- Troubleshoot equipment and tooling issues and implement effective corrective actions.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant engineering or technical experience.
Preferred Qualifications- 3+ years of engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- 5+ years of 3D CAD modeling experience.
- 5+ years of experience applying GD&T principles.
- 5+ years of project management experience.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred.
Work EnvironmentThis position requires regular presence on the production floor and may include:
- Standing and walking for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day).
- Climbing ladders and stairs.
- Working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Direct interaction with manufacturing equipment and production personnel.
