Portfolio and Program Governance Director

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end program, portfolio, and project management across complex technology initiatives
• Own intake, demand management, prioritization, and alignment to business and strategic objectives
• Drive predictable, high-quality delivery using Agile and DevOps methodologies
• Provide technical and delivery leadership across cross-functional engineering teams
• Lead technology transformation initiatives, including large-scale cloud adoption
• Define and execute strategic roadmaps, delivery models, and operating frameworks
• Design and optimize processes to improve efficiency, transparency, and delivery outcomes
• Proactively identify and manage delivery, operational, and technology risks
• Ensure operational excellence through governance, metrics, and continuous improvement

Required Experience

• Proven experience operating within large, enterprise or regulated environments
• Strong track record delivering large-scale cloud programs (AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform)
• Ability to collaborate across business and technology teams and manage diverse stakeholder expectations
• Sufficient technical depth to validate, guide, and govern engineering delivery
• Deep expertise in Agile methodologies, with a focus on workflow efficiency and team productivity
• Hands-on experience with Scrum and Kanban, including running standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives
• Execution-focused mindset with a strong emphasis on delivery outcomes and performance

Leadership & Management Skills

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or technology delivery
• Strong background in Agile and DevOps environments
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills
• Experience managing multiple engineering teams, programs, or value streams
• Ability to drive governance, portfolio oversight, and strategic alignment across initiatives
