We are seeking a Cyber Security Administrator to provide specialized network and cybersecurity administration support for state agencies. The consultant will help maintain secure, compliant, and modern network infrastructure while addressing operational challenges, hardware lifecycle requirements, and critical security requests.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and execute Firewall Service Requests (FSRs), break-fix tickets, and formal change requests.
- Provide day-to-day administration and support for network security infrastructure.
- Support infrastructure modernization initiatives, including the decommissioning and refresh of End-of-Life (EOL) network hardware.
- Implement and maintain security controls and configurations to support compliance with IRS, FBI, and Criminal Justice Information Services (CJI) requirements.
- Configure, administer, troubleshoot, and manage Cisco ASA and Palo Alto firewalls.
- Perform firewall rule management, security policy updates, NAT configuration, VPN support, and troubleshooting.
- Investigate and resolve network security incidents and operational issues.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance activities and emergency response as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network security changes, configurations, and operational activities..
Required Technical Qualifications
Palo Alto Firewalls
- Experience with Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls.
- Knowledge of:
- Security Zones
- Security Policies
- Site-to-Site (S2S) VPN
- NAT configuration
- Basic threat prevention/security features
Cisco ASA Firewalls
- Experience configuring and administering Cisco ASA firewalls.
- Firewall rule management and troubleshooting.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve connectivity and security issues.
Networking
- Strong foundational knowledge of networking concepts, including:
- Routing protocols
- Subnetting
- OSI Model
- TCP/IP
- Network troubleshooting
- Firewall and network security fundamentals
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering enterprise network security environments, particularly Palo Alto and Cisco ASA firewalls, and be comfortable working in a state/government environment with strict security and compliance requirements.
