Job Title: Google Cloud Platform Solution Architect – Regulated Support (Hands-On)

Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Google Cloud Platform Solution Architect to design and build the support architecture for Google Cloud environments handling regulated workloads. This role combines solution architecture with deep technical execution, including designing support operating models, regulatory controls, AI-assisted workflows, and resolving complex production issues.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture
- Design the end-to-end support operating model, including case routing, severity handling (P1–P4), escalation paths, and knowledge management.
- Architect regulatory compliance for environments supporting FedRAMP, CJIS, IAL3, ITAR, IRS-1075, and similar frameworks.
- Define AI-assisted support workflows using Gemini-native classification, retrieval, drafting, and human-in-the-loop approval.
- Design secure support solutions leveraging Google Cloud native services, BeyondCorp zero-trust access, Vector Search, Looker, and operational metrics.
- Establish technical standards, governance, and best practices for support operations.
Hands-On Technical Responsibilities
- Build reference implementations, proof-of-concepts, and automation solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production incidents, including P1 escalations across Google Cloud Platform services.
- Develop and maintain runbooks, operational documentation, and knowledge base content.
- Mentor engineers through live troubleshooting sessions and technical reviews.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship with willingness to undergo adjudication/certification for regulated-data access.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, cloud support, or solution architecture.
- Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), including:
- Networking
- Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- Compute Services
- Data & Analytics (BigQuery)
- Vertex AI / Machine Learning
- Platform and Security Services
- Experience designing or operating within regulated environments such as FedRAMP, CJIS, ITAR, IRS-1075, HIPAA, PCI, or similar compliance frameworks.
- Experience designing enterprise support or operations models, including routing, SLAs, escalation processes, and knowledge management.
- Strong incident management experience, including leading P1 incidents and customer communications.
- Excellent technical writing skills with experience creating architecture documentation, runbooks, and operational standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI-assisted support platforms, Gemini, or agentic AI workflows.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Go, or Bash.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Familiarity with BeyondCorp, zero-trust architecture, or secure vendor-operated environments.
- Experience transitioning enterprise support operations with minimal service disruption.
Success in the First 90 Days
- Design and document the support operating model and regulatory architecture.
- Deliver reference implementations and foundational runbooks for engineering teams.
- Complete regulated-case access requirements and successfully resolve at least one complex production escalation.
