Position Overview

Upchurch is seeking a Plumbing Project Manager to oversee commercial plumbing projects from award through closeout. This role partners closely with field leadership, service teams, and operations to deliver projects that move quickly, stay organized, and exceed client expectations. The ideal candidate is highly responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple active jobs at once.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple plumbing projects simultaneously from kickoff to closeout

  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, labor planning, and cost tracking

  • Partner with Superintendents, Foremen, and Service teams to align field execution

  • Coordinate materials, equipment, vendors, and subcontracted scopes

  • Review drawings, scopes of work, and specifications; manage RFIs and submittals

  • Track job costs, productivity, and margins; proactively address variances

  • Prepare, price, and negotiate change orders and extra work authorizations

  • Maintain frequent communication with clients, property managers, and GCs

  • Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards

  • Manage project closeout, including billing, documentation, and turnover

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience managing commercial plumbing projects

  • Strong understanding of plumbing systems, service work, and field sequencing

  • Proven ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects at the same time

  • Experience with cost control, scheduling, and change management

  • Proficiency with construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar)

  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset

  • Ability to work closely with field teams and adapt to shifting priorities

Preferred Experience

  • Background in plumbing service, special projects, or renovations

  • Experience working directly with clients and property management teams

  • Bachelor?s degree in Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
