Raytheon is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide design engineering and integration/test support on a key airborne sensor product development effort in our North Texas location. This effort is of high visibility and importance to the company and the defenders of this nation.

What You Will Do:
  • Perform mechanical design and documentation of antennas, RF Sensors, and supporting Electronics and Sub-systems.
  • Follow established procedures and instructions while working closely with program and functional leadership to ensure that overall design objectives are met.
  • Responsible for developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems.
  • Responsible for supervising the definitions of mechanical outline and construction details, connector selection and specification, mechanical and assembly drawings, and overseeing electrical layout and the technical data package.
  • Work with minimal direction or supervision, while exercising considerable latitude in determining the technical objectives of assignments
  • Frequent interaction with the IPTL, PM, and external personnel.
  • Travel periodically to suppliers and other sites to support programs

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree and a minimum of 5 years' prior relevant experience, to include any combination of the following:
  • Experience with the design and manufacturing of electronics packaging for military and aerospace applications
  • Experience with GD&T, ANSI drawing standards and first order analysis techniques
  • Experience with PTC Creo MCAD software and drawing standards

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Ability to apply basic principles, theories, and concepts within the mechanical engineering field
  • Six (6) or more years of industry experience in the design and test of electronics packaging for military and aerospace applications
  • CREO surfacing experience
  • Strong technical background with high technical aptitude
  • Advanced mechanical engineering expertise
  • Capable of providing input or guidance to lower-level engineers
  • Ability to manage conflicting or non-existent requirements in a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
