Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and testing hardware and electronic components for use in engineering and scientific applications. Ensures the application of relevant standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support hardware systems from the board level to full system integration.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform detailed design of test control apparatus and equipment
  • Develop schematics and drawings to support fabrication
  • Research, design, develop and test electronic components, products and systems
  • Qualify and test developed hardware, test plans and procedures, and test systems
  • Consult with software engineers for hardware and software integration
  • Must be at assigned worksite during assigned hours 100% of time; less PTO, FML/STD/LTD

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors
  • Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary
  • Ability to adhere to workplace rules
  • Ability to read, write and develop intelligible drawings, instructions and procedures
  • Ability to collaborate with a multi-functional team in a fast-paced environment


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related technical field
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
  • Basic MS Office experience
  • Hardware design and development of embedded microprocessor systems experience preferred
  • Military standards experience preferred


WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Office and production environment
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones)
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, foreign and/or domestic
